Honolulu Theatre for Youth Presents "Home"

Honolulu Theatre for Youth returns with a brand new performance! Written and directed by Annie Cusick Wood, this 30-minute program explores the value of a shelter. What is a home? What happens when you do not have one? Two charming characters wrestle to create their own homes until they come to realize that one of the greatest joys of having a home is sharing it. The ten Oahu performances are made possible by a special grant from the City & County of Honolulu, Mayor's Office of Culture and the Arts (MOCA).

Program is recommended for ages 3 to 5. All children must be accompanied by a parent or adult caregiver. Program schedule is subject to change. Contact the library 10 days in advance to request a sign language interpreter or if special accommodations are needed.

Celtic Harp and Story with Patrick Ball

Renowned Celtic harpist/storyteller Patrick Ball returns to Hawaii with his latest combination of Celtic stories and sounds from his Maplewood harp. The crystalline, bell-like resonance of the legendary harp is guaranteed to take the listener into the deepest realms of the imagination. Patrick tours extensively throughout the United States and Canada. He has recorded about a dozen albums which have earned national awards in both the music and spoken word categories. This 45-minutes program is suitable for ages 5 and older. Young children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.

Do You Believe in Magic? with Glen Bailey

Magician Glen Bailey specializes in close up table magic at large and small corporate events and private events; also offers a very nice family or children stage magic comedy show. He is the past President of Hawaii Society of American Magicians and International Brotherhood of Magicians as well as Immediate Past President of the Rotary Club of Honolulu Sunset.

The Hot Club of San Francisco

Composed of three guitarists, a bassist and violinist, the Hot Club of San Francisco celebrates the music of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli, harkening back to the Paris jazz clubs of the 1930s. The group breathes new life into the music with innovative arrangements of classic tunes and original compositions from the group's superb lead guitarist, Paul Mehling. Featuring the amazing violin of twice GRAMMY Award-winning Evan Price, the velvet vocals of Isabelle Fontaine and a swinging rhythm section, the group never fails to surprise and delight.
