Afterschool Teen Movie with Snacks: Captain America: Civil War

Teens grade 6-12 are invited to relax and enjoy free snacks in the auditorium while viewing a hit movie! In this superhero epic, the denizens of the Marvel Universe are forced to pick sides when Captain America (Chris Evans) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) come to blows over ideological differences. After a mission involving a new Avengers squad led by Cap ends with several civilian casualties in Lagos, the team are asked to sign an agreement that would force them to take orders from a United Nations panel. Tony Stark (aka Iron Man) pressures Cap to accept this new arrangement, in part because he feels deeply guilty about his own past recklessness; Captain America, however, fears that the Avengers will only be corrupted by bureaucracy.

After accidentally summoning an ancient spirit, a young Japanese boy named Kubo (voiced by Art Parkinson) is separated from his mother and embarks on a journey to discover the truth about his missing father. Along the way, he befriends the kindhearted Monkey (Charlize Theron) and the clumsy Beetle (Matthew McConaughey) as he fends off the vengeful Moon King (Ralph Fiennes) and two evil twin sisters (Rooney Mara) with his shamisen, a magical stringed instrument.

After his parents are killed in a car accident, a young boy named Pete (Oakes Fegley) finds an unlikely caregiver in the form of a dragon (whom he dubs "Elliot") living in a forest in the Pacific Northwest. Years later, a forest ranger (Bryce Dallas Howard) discovers Pete and takes him in, but his attempts to adjust to a normal life are complicated by a man (Karl Urban) who wants to hunt down Elliot.

In this reimagining of the classic collection of stories by Rudyard Kipling, director Jon Favreau uses visually stunning CGI to create the community of animals surrounding Mowgli (Neel Sethi), a human boy adopted by a pack of wolves. The appearance of a villainous tiger named Shere Khan (voiced byIdris Elba) forces Mowgli's guardian, the panther Bagheera (Ben Kingsley), to shepherd the child to safety in the "man village." Along the way, the boy meets an affable, lazy bear named Baloo (Bill Murray), as well as a snake with hypnotic powers (Scarlett Johansson) and an orangutan (Christopher Walken) who wants to harness the power of fire.

After discovering the truth about their walled city and breaking down its oppressive faction system, Tris (Shailene Woodley) and Four (Theo James) lead a journey outside of Chicago to learn more about who has been manipulating their civilization. But once their group comes face-to-face with the society that turned their city into an enclosed experiment, secrets are uncovered that threaten the fate of humankind.
