This session will provide an overview of the issues of caregiving and long term care. We will discuss the levels and settings of long term care and how long term care is paid for, including long term care insurance. We will also discuss the Class Act, the long term care provision in the recently enacted health care bill. This information should prove invaluable as we help our parents, loved ones, and even ourselves age with dignity and independence.
By the end of this session you will be able to:
1. Describe long term care
2. Describe the sources of payment for long term care
3. Describe the basic elements of long term care insurance

The library proudly presents this cultural demonstration for all ages! Featured dancer Charlene Gima, recipient of the HSFCA Folk Arts Apprenticeship Program, and Jimpu Kai USA Kin Ryosho Ryuku Geino Kenkyusho will perform Okinawan dance, including kumi wudui, the classical dance drama of Okinawa.

This free program for seniors and adults will feature tai chi with Ileina Ferrier and an informative seminar by Pepper Cumming of the Arthritis Foundation. Learn about the different forms of arthritis, how exercise can be used to treat them, and services offered by the Arthritis Foundation, including exercise classes! Then try tai chi and take home useful handouts, such as a rheumatologist referral list.
